Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Not all National Trust properties are open yet, and those that are require pre-booking via their website, no later than 15:00 on the day prior to visit.

If you, or any of your party have a new persistant cough, or develop a fever of 38C, we would instead advise you to use the NHS's dedicated website for professional advice.

Mount Stewart House, Garden and Temple of the Winds

Mount Stewart is one of the most inspiring and unusual gardens in the National Trust's ownership. The garden reflects a rich tapestry of design and great planting artistry that was the hallmark of Edith, Lady Londonderry. The mild climate of Strangford Lough allows astonishing levels of planting experimentation. The formal areas exude a strong Mediterranean feel and resemble an Italian villa landscape; the wooded areas support a range of plants from all corners of the world, ensuring something to see whatever the season.Mount Stewart Restoration ProjectWe are currently delivering a major project at Mount Stewart. This includes important repairs and improvements to the structure and services of the house.Come along and see our exciting project in action by taking a house tour. A special restoration tour now replaces the house tour due to the ongoing conservation. An experienced house guide will be in each room to tell you more about the current work going on in the house. This year we have also opened our conservation studio where you can watch an expert at work.
