If you are planning on travelling distance to attractions, we would recommend that you contact the venues directly in advance to avoid disappointment.
If you, or any of your party have a new persistant cough, or develop a fever of 38C, we would instead advise you to use the NHS's dedicated website for professional advice.
Castle Espie’s tranquil setting offers the best views of Strangford Lough, County Down and is home to Ireland’s largest collection of native and exotic water-birds. The centre has the most significant habitat improvement of its kind in Ireland, including restored lagoons, grasslands, salt marshes and reed beds. In autumn visitors can witness almost the entire population of migratory Brent Geese. Throughout June and July, the duckery becomes home to a huge number of ducklings, goslings and cygnets. We hand rear many endangered species of duck from our waterfowl collection in order to ensure their survival as they can be vulnerable to predation in the waterfowl gardens. The centre is truly a magical place for all ages offering wild woodland walks, soft play areas, events and workshops, art exhibitions, retail therapy and after your visit you can relax in the Loughshore Café over coffee or lunch.
